About Me

My Experience

image1

I grew up in a military family and have spent half of my life in Europe and Asia.  I studied mechanical engineering in Naples, Italy and applied this knowledge to industrial robotics when I returned to America.  After realizing that the life of a design engineer was not for me, I worked in technical sales and manufacturing while pursuing a degree in Finance and International Business.  I joined Danaher's leadership program and served in supply chain, new product development and product management roles while simultaneously gaining the experience of acquisition integration and LEAN.  My experience at Danaher afforded me the ability to work with teams in Asia and Europe and became an expat in Belgium where I led the consolidation of Fluke's manufacturing and engineering footprint.

After receiving my MBA in Belgium, I joined Acuity Brands Lighting executive team to strengthen their engineering and marketing capabilities best practices and LEAN.  I led corporate strategy deployment in 2014 and 2015 along with the acquisition of Distech Controls in 2015, providing leadership for the successful technology and channel integration of the two businesses.  I then joined the strategic marketing team leading the retail vertical; growing it from $291mil to $362mil in 2017.  In 2018, I joined Omnimax International's leadership team as head of Marketing, Product and Engineering.

I have also enjoyed building a successful general contracting company in Seattle Washington called Vertical Construction Group.

My Skillset

I have developed a unique skillset of technical leadership and change management that has made me an effective leader in marketing, product management and engineering.  I hold an MBA from a top business school and balance that with the practical experience gained as a LEAN leader.  Because of my background living in different countries, I enjoy working with teams with diverse backgrounds and ideas.

My Passions

I am truly an outdoors person and enjoy it with my wife of 19 years, my two young sons, and our dog Mogul.  When I am not trying to add value to my customer or deliver business results, you will find me skiing the back country of Canada, riding my mountain bike across Costa Rica, fly fishing the Madison river, hunting deer in the North Georgia mountains or practicing amateur photography.   I support food security related enterprises both financially and via pro bono consulting.  I also pretend to be a chef for my family and friends.
